Abstract

The influence of Russian is chiefly responsible for complex linguistic processes in many of the national regions of Siberia today. Communicating in Russian becomes increasingly necessary owing to a number of factors and conditions. The interaction between Russian and the languages of Siberia's indigenous peoples began 400 years ago. Its development has not been uniform and its results in the living colloquial language of Siberian Russians and in the language of the indigenous peoples in contact with them have varied depending on the cultural level of these peoples, their language, and on the duration and depth of these contacts.
