Abstract

In the article, the author substantiates the possibility and necessity of government influence on the economy within the framework of implementing the concept of sustainable development. At the beginning of the article, the behavioral models of producers and consumers in the era of the «green» economy, declared and welcomed at the official level by the state and society, and their antagonistic contradictions with actual trends in the production of most consumer goods and services are described. The causes and possible long-term consequences of these contradictions for the development of the modern economy and modern consumer society are analyzed. Particular attention is devoted to the role of the state in solving global socio-economic problems. At the end of the article, several promising directions for improving production within the concept of sustainable development are given, which do not contradict the real patterns of development of the economy and society.
