Abstract

Dr. Taha Abdel Rahman is one of the few Muslim thinkers of our time who combines in his research interests a purely rational view of humanistic philosophy with a renewal of consideration of Islamic legal texts. Among the issues that received special attention from Dr. Taha Abdel Rahman is the issue of reason, which is full of human heritage in general, and the legal text in particular. However, Dr. Taha Abdel Rahman's philosophy is characterized by a unique view of reason: it did not consider it a self-contained essence as was believed in Greek philosophy, which has a great influence on Islamic thought. This research aims to deal with Dr. Taha Abdel Rahman's philosophy by studying and analyzing to identify aspects of renewal in Taha Abdel Rahman's perspective of reason and show its impact on the three Islamic sciences: theology, jurisprudence, and mysticism.
