Abstract
The second-order Raman scattering spectra of LiD 1− x H x (0 ⩽ × ⩽ 1) mixed crystals are measured at room temperature with high resolution. At low concentration ( x ≲ 0.1) above the fundamental phonon spectrum of LiD crystals the local mode vibration of the hydrogen ion has been observed. The local mode frequency is growing with an increasing isotopical defect concentration. The observable growth ω loc( x) is in qualitative agreement with the results of its theoretical calculation. The last one was performed by Jaswall et al. in the frame of a deformation dipole model.
