Abstract

AbstractThis article examines the impetus and benefit of establishing a strong assessment culture at the community college level––institutions serving incredibly diverse student populations with fewer resources than their 4‐year counterparts. Best practices and lessons learned from a suburban Chicago community college serve as an example for other community colleges to assist in their pursuit of a strong assessment culture. In order to be successful in its implementation and long‐term health, community college assessment within the student affairs level must be student‐focused while carefully leveraging limited resources.
