Abstract

Objective To explore the combined effects of lead and noise exposure on serum SOD and MDA levels. Methods Workers in group A (lead and noise exposure) and group B (noise exposure) had matched age, length of working and intensity of noise. The serum SOD and MDA levels were detected and compared between two groups. Results The serum SOD levels of group A and group B were (65.2 ± 16.3)U/ml,(63.8 ± 13.9)U/ml respectively, without significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05).The serum MDA levels of group A and group B were (6.81 ± 3.12) nmol/ml,(5.02 ± 2.36) nmol/ml respectively, with significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion Lead combined with noise exposure may worsen free radical impairment and lipid peroxidation.
