Abstract

When starting the diesel truck’s system, starting with a combined current source creates more favorable conditions for the operation of the diesel engine: due to the increase in angular acceleration of the crankshaft is reduced while working in conditions of dry friction, and by reducing start-up time reduces the quantity of unburned fuel accumulating in the cylinders at the initial moment of time. All this increases the reliability of the diesel engine and reduces unproductive fuel costs, reduces the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The use of an energy storage device in addition to the battery allowed not only to reduce the capacity of batteries by 2 times, but also to reduce the current loads on them during starter discharge modes, which increases the resource of battery modules and brings it closer to the resource of energy storage devices, as well as to guarantee engine start in winter (especially in the Arctic). Keywords molecular energy storage, combined current source, diesel start mode, voltage, starter current amplitude, speed, residual capacity, internal resistance
