Abstract

The simplified Bell–Kochen–Specker hidden-variable conditions (BKS) require an assignment of 0 or 1 to every vector on a state space H such that the assignment respects orthogonality. We show that the pair of conditions { BKS , dim H ⩾ 3 } are not merely inconsistent, but in fact imply dim H = 1 .
