The clinical character and imaging analysis of the epithelial tumors of lacrimal gland

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical character and imaging feature of the epithelial tumors of lacrimal gland.Methods A retrospective study of the epithelial tumors of lacrimal gland was performed to investigate the histopathological feature,clinical and imaging data.Results The most common kind of benign tumor was pleomorphic adenoma 95.8％ (23/24),the top malignant tumors was adenoid cystic carcinoma 66.6％ (12/18).The main clinical manifestations of epithelial tumors of lacrimal gland were ocular proptosis,dyskinesia,malposition,diplopia,soreness and vision depression,but a different histopathological feature of the epithelial tumors of the lacrimal gland,the clinical character and imaging feature also distinct.Conclusions The benign and malignant epithelial tumors of lacirmal gland are both easy to relapse,it is important for primary diagnosis with combination of clinical and imaging appearances to development a reasonable surgical treatment options.
