Abstract

Objective Observe the curative effect of the treatment of recurrent oral ulcer with Smeeta in order to offer a kind of effective medicine for treatment of ROU with little side effect for the clinical practice.Methods 87 outpatients with recurrent oral ulcer, who were treated from June 2006 to June 2008, were selected and randomly divided into two groups:the therapy group was coated with Smeeta on the ulcer surface; the control group with iodine glycerin, and all of the groups stopped taking medicine. During the therapy,the average ulcer stage,the pain index and the local efficacy were recorded to evaluate the ulcer healing rates.Results the parameters such as average ulcer stage and pain index in therapy group were significantly better than those in control group (P<0.05);,The total effective rate was 88.9% and59. 5% respectively.Conclusions The treatment of recurrent oral ulcer with Smecta has effects on analgesia and ulcer concrescence promotion,so the treatment goal is reached and principle of therapy followed.It provides an effective drug for treatment of ROU with little side effect.
