Abstract
Introduction: sexual services provided on a paid-for basis are an ever-expanding phenomenon that can be observed in various forms around the world, which indicates the globality of this problem. Sexual acts committed with the involvement of minors are usually accompanied by psychological effects, both on the side of providing such services and on the consumer, which leads to the formation of unhealthy sexual attitudes, needs, and desires. The purpose of the study is to provide criminological characteristics of the sexual services provided, their systematization and typologization of the modern sex industry as a social phenomenon and its criminological consequences, to gain new knowledge about this phenomenon, and to develop proposals for changing current legislation. Research methods: to collect, process, generalize, analyze, and interpret empirical material, the authors have used the special formal logical method, the general scientific methods such as comparison and description, and the general logical methods such as analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, etc. As a result of the study, an extensive description of the types of sexual services that are rendered on a reimbursable basis is presented, and the criminological risks of widespread and uncontrolled consumption of sexual services are identified, including the involvement of minors, based on the results of which the authors have proposed changes to the current legislation.
