Abstract
The article offers a critical study of the first and only translation of the Bible using Chinese Muslim terminology, the 天经 Tiānjīng Al-Kitab Al-Muqadas, with respect to its textual base and the model text involved, the terminology used and its relationship to the Chinese Muslim community, and the audience and reception of the work.
