The child's‐eye view of working parents

Abstract

For the past 4 years, the Education and Human Resources Committee has been sponsoring evening panel sessions at the AGU Spring and Fall Meetings. Panelists have discussed their experiences in coping with problems such as balancing their time between work and family, or overcoming barriers to professional growth. At the 1986 AGU Spring Meeting in May 1986, we tried a different format. Rather than presentations by a few panelists followed by questions from the audience, we ran a group discussion in which the entire audience participated.
