Abstract
The GP Program Committee, composed of Laurie Brown, Sue Halgedahl, and Steve Lund, has been formed for the purpose of planning, on a long‐range basis, the AGU‐GP meeting programs through 1988. The goals for this committee are to spread special sessions equally between the AGU Spring and Fall Meetings and also to provide adequate forewarning of special sessions. This is not to say that last‐minute plans for special sessions will go by the wayside, as there is always a place for new and exciting topics. However, if we want to make special sessions truly special and stimulating, a longer lead time should produce better contributions a n d greater participation.
