Abstract

Ocular trauma is the common cause of acquired blindness in children. Due to the important visual development sensitive period in childhood, the irreversible visual impairment or even blindness will be encountered if the ocular trauma is not treated timely. That will result in the great losses for family and society. Therefore, prevention and treatment of ocular trauma in children are very important. This review will describe and analyze the clinical features, types, causes, diagnosis, clinical manifestations and treatment of ocular trauma in children. In order to provide preventive measures and guide clinical medical practice, the characteristics in pediatric ocular trauma were analyzed in this article.
