Abstract

From the years 1953, 1963 and 1973, 100 cases each of active postprimary tuberculosis of the lung were investigated with respect to the changed pathomorphism during the era of antituberculous drugs. The multisegmental involvement and the number of cavities decrease with increasing predilection for segments 1, 2 and 6. Primary tuberculosis becomes rare, while one finds more patients with reactivations. There is a particularly striking increase in productive forms. Observations suggest that profound changes have occurred in the clinical picture of tuberculosis during the era of antituberculous drugs.
