Abstract

The development of small-diameter artificial vascular grafts has become a research hotspot in recent years. To achieve long-term patency, an ideal vascular graft should have the capacity to recruit host cells to participate in vascular tissue regeneration. Based on previous research, we provide detailed descriptions of the cell sources and cell types involved in vascular graft regeneration. Methodology to determine host cell infiltration and the limitations of current techniques are also discussed.
