Abstract

John's story shows that he has overcome most of the he once had in trying to put words and sentences down on paper. By difficulty here I don't mean problems of thought or invention. I mean the motor skill of making appropriate marks on paper. And, of course, spelling and punctuation. For a long while, long after he had learned to read well, these problems kept John from doing much writing. It simply was too laborious a task. Even watching him was painful. He'd etch out each letter slowly, then erase whenever he thought he had erred in shape or spacing.
