Abstract
Construction of the buildings and services for the 20 MV tandem accelerator in Buenos Aires has been completed. The SF 6 gas handling system has been successfully tested up to a pressure of 9.8 kg/cm 2 absolute (125 psig). The accelerator column and injection systems have already been installed. High voltage tests have been conducted. A maximum voltage (24.7 ± 8)% MV has been reached on the terminal, well above the specifications of the system.
