Abstract
This article analyzes the definition and classification of synonyms by Chinese scientists and Russian scientists, describes the methods of distinguishing Chinese and Russian synonyms. The groups of Chinese synonyms and corresponding Russian translations are compared and analyzed in terms of semantic, rhetorical and grammatical functions.
