Abstract

This article concerns the ways in which moving image media enable secondary school students to improve their print literacy standards. It examines productive ways of using moving image media with literary texts to support and enhance the literacy skills of students. It contends that informed use of media enhances students’ abilities in critically evaluating, consuming and producing texts and that engaging with print and media texts develops the literacy practices of students.
