Abstract

This study investigated the black audience's viewership of and satisfaction with black‐oriented programs on the Black Entertainment Television channel. Demographics and racial‐orientation factors were hypothesized to predict BET program satisfaction. The results show that the younger and high racially oriented respondents tended to be heavier viewers of and more satisfied with the BET programs than black‐oriented programming on major network channels.
