Abstract

Objective To evaluate the biocompatibility of gelatin-bletilla/Salvia-miltiorrhiza as porous material. Methods Leaching liquor of material was intraperitoneally injected into mice, and the acute toxicity reaction was observed. Leaching liquor was injected into the rabbits via ear vein, and the pyrogen reaction was observed. The hemolysis of leaching liquor was analyzed by spectrophotometer. The effects of leaching liquor at concentrations (0. 10,0. 02,0. 01 g/ml) on L929 cell MTT colorimentry were observed. Materials were implanted into SD mice. At the 1st,2nd,4th,and 8th week after implantion, the materials were taken out of bodies and observed. Results Acute toxicity and fever were not caused by leaching liquor of material after injection. Hemolytic rate of leaching liquor was 2.59 %. The RGR of leaching liquor at three concentrations was 102. 8,101. 2,100. 5 at the first day, 104. 5,100. 6,103. 4 at the 3rd day, 109.7,104.7,106.7 at the 7th day respectively. Materials was degradated and absorbed entirely in vivo during 8 week without significant inflammation. Conclusion The gelatin-bletilla/Salvia-miltiorrhiza had good biocompatibility as a porous material. Key words: Gelatin-bletilla; Salvia-miltionhiza; Porous material; Biocompatibibility
