Abstract

Abstract The analysis of three spectra of the Mn Hg Sr star HD 149121 recorded by the SWP camera on board the International Ultraviolet Explorer does not reveal variations of the far-ultraviolet flux of this star over two sets of observations separated by about 6 yr. The synthesis of the Sr ii resonance line at 4215.52 Å in a high resolution high signal-to-noise SOPHIE spectrum of HD 149121 yields a large overabundance of about 200 times the solar abundance of strontium and confirms that HD 149121 is a strontium-rich HgMn star.
