Abstract

The analysis of 28 spectra of the bright B6 He-weak star HD 5737 recorded by the SWP camera on board the International Ultraviolet Explorer reveals one instance of marginal variation of the far-ultraviolet flux of this star from 1300 up to 1700 Å. All the other large aperture spectra show a remarkably constant spectral energy distribution. Over the 6 yr of the IUE mission, HD 5737 has experienced at least two episodes of very strong absorption in the C iv resonance lines at 1548.19 and 1550.77 Å,
