Abstract

A selected part of geometry of higher-order contact essential for our purposes is presented. A differential background for an analysis formed by lifting of geometric objects, say, tensor fields defined on a manifold to its tangent bundle is regarded as the differential manifold. Within this theory classical differential operators subject to the complete lift are defined. The theory is then specialized to the case of balance laws of the continuum mechanics in the material description. The new important interrelations between the balance laws defined on these spaces are in the natural manner obtained.
