Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article relates the background, development, rationale, and direction of the new thrust in management education in Australian engineering undergraduate courses. By 1995, all Australian professional engineering courses will require a minimum of 10% of studies to be in management and management-related subjects. This step is the first in introducing management to engineers, broadening the hitherto narrow specialized technical training, providing balance and flexibility to adapt to change, and better preparing graduating engineers for their managerial responsibilities.
