Abstract
This paper represents the results of a research conducted between 2022 and 2023 within a project1 between two private universities: Singidunum University in Serbia, and CY Cergy Paris University in France. The aim of the research is to investigate and analyze the attitudes of teaching and non-teaching staff at Singidunum University towards gender equality and gender quotas in this higher education institution, as the new Law on Gender Equality has been adopted. The research results show that the academic community at Singidunum University accepts gender equality as a concept which is necessary in contemporary society, but they do not accept gender quotas as a tool for reaching gender equality in higher education institutions. The aim of this paper is to present the results of the research which can be beneficial in the future decision-making process related to gender equality and higher education.
