Abstract

The quality of an asymmetry plane structural group type 3R is given in this paper, allowing us to classify three types of these groups. However, only one type allowed us to determine the relative dimensions of links of a group according to a predetermined, largest-assumed angle of pressure. This type of group provides optimal geometric and kinematic characteristics of mechanisms, produced with the use of this group under the equality of other conditions. The qualities of structural group type 3R connected with its asymmetry are studied, and design formulas and reference diagrams are given. The quality of asymmetry is used for the design of slider-rocker and crank and rocker mechanisms, and for the design of mechanisms with transmission from elliptical cranks. The design formulas and reference diagrams for each mechanism are given.
