The area of the fault, the dislocation, the stress drop and the seismic moment of the Friuli earthquake of May 6th, 1976

Abstract

With different approximate methods are estimated thevalues of the area of the fault, of the dislocation, of the stress drop and ofthe seismic moment of the Friuli earthquake of May 6th, 1976. Some considerationsfollow on the possibility to forecast the earthquake and on itsrelation to the subsequent event of September 11th.
