Abstract

Objective To observe the application effect of ganglioside combined with mild hypothermia in the treatment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Methods A total of 88 children with HIE treated in our hospital from January 2016 to December 2016 were randomly divided into two groups with 44 cases in each group. The control group was given ganglioside treatment, while the observation group was treated with mild hypothermia based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical efficacy and the score of Neonatal Behavioral Neurological Assessment (NBNA) before and after treatment of the two groups were observed. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.18%, significantly better than 68.18% of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P 0.05); NBNA score of the observation group on the 5th, 10th day after treatment were (34.12±4.55) and (36.54±3.17), higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Ganglioside combined with mild hypothermia is effective in the treatment of HIE, which can promote the recovery of neurological function in children and improve the therapeutic effect of HIE.
