Abstract

Cupping was originally used for surgical treatment of sores to get rid of purulent blood. Both the materials and methods of cupping have been improved and developed with the medical experience accumulated, and the scope of treatment for cupping has also expanded, therefore most clinical departments have the application of cupping. This treatment has the characteristics of simple operation, remarkable curative effects and minor side effects, and it is often used along with acupuncture. In this paper, we will analyze the literature of cupping therapy for peripheral facial paralysis in recent five years, and expound the application of cupping therapy in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis from the four aspects of quick cupping, moving cupping, row of cupping and pricking blood with cupping, hoping to provide reference for clinical treatment of peripheral facial paralysis.
