Abstract

DC-bias is one of the important problems in the process of the modern power system development, Which would cause the damage to electrical equipment and even lead to the power system disastrous accidents. DC bias is mainly caused by the solar storm or the DC power transmission system. Firstly, on the basis of analysis of the typical DC bias historical events, the characteristics of DC-bias due to the two causes is researched. Then, the DC bias control method is summarized and classified, and the DC bias governance principles applicability recommendation are proposed. Finally, using the GIC Benchmark model, we calculate the DC current in the neutral point of the substation, and analyze the features govern laws aim at the both causes. At the end of this paper, the unresolved issues and possible research directions is proposed.
