Abstract

AbstractResults concerning the influence of manganous ions, either singly or in combination with cobalt ions, on the anodic corrosion of lead in acid sulphate solutions are reported. The corrosion of lead is much less when it is compared to media containing only copper and cobalt ions. This fact has been corroborated by results obtained by the potentiokinetic method. Some results on the electrochemical oxidation of manganous ions at lead anodes in presence of cobalt ions are also described.
