Abstract
We introduce a novel approach which aims to simplify the derivation of the angular distribution of electric quadrupole radiant power in the anisotropic medium. First, we derive the expressions of radiant power and its angular distribution of the electric quadrupole oscillating along the polar axis in anisotropic rectangular coordinate system, then the relation between the radiated power of the electric quadrupole oscillating along the polar axis and its angular distribution is obtained by applying coordinate transformation, and then do next research. When the medium is isotropic, the results in this paper are consistent with that we expected, which verifies the correctness of the method we proposed. Achievement of this work can be used to judge the effect of radiation in anisotropic media, so that the radiation effect can be effectively utilized.
