Abstract

The radium in anisotropic medium is investigated. A general formula is worked out for showing power-flow of electric quadrupole radiation with tensor form in anisotropic magnetic medium. After substituting the radiation field of electric quadrupole into this general formula, an expression of average power-flow density electric quadrupole radium in anisotropic magnetic medium is then obtained at anisotropic rectangular coordinate system through dyadic calculation. After coordinate transformation, an expression of average power-flow density of electric quadrupole radium in anisotropic magnetic medium formulated by ordinary rectangular coordinate system is finally obtained. Moreover, the principal direction in which electric quadrupole radiation concentrates is judged, and the inferred new formula is verified, which offers a theoretical basis for studying the development and the application of anisotropic magnetic medium.
