Abstract
In the present stage, about 95% energy is supplied by foreign import in Taiwan. So, focusing on both multi-resource of energy in addition to environmental protects goals, the supply of new and clean energy will be achieved to 3% before the year of 2020 on the Government promotion plan. Biodiesel is one kind of renewable energy. Its characteristics of bio-digestible, easily burn and low pollutant emission cause the environment healthy after its utilization. It is good alternative one of fossil fuel. From economic point of view, if increasing the additional proportion or full alternative of the waste cooking oil as feedstock, the unit cost can be decreased about 12.5% to 17% because the purchase cost of feedstock is around 60% to 70% of the manufacture cost. That is, both the environmental protect and economic benefit is higher for using extracted fat from cooking residue as feedstock. The feedstock purchase assistant is better than facility investment assistant by the Government. And, the mix assistant is suggested compromisingly, for example, IRR (internal reward rate) is 20% and PB (pay back) is below five year for that the facility investment assistant is 50% and the feedstock purchase assistant is $2NT per litter of biodiesel. The conclusions in this paper hope to be referenced for the newplant investment, the establishment of the relating regulation and/or encouragement policy by the Government.
