Abstract

The character and the rate of growth of dispersion distortions in the ambiguity function (AF) of a wideband rectangular chirp radio pulse propagating in cold isotropic collisional plasma, are analyzed for the decametric-wave band. The significant influence of the depth of frequency modulation and the pulse duration on the current area of the high-correlation region of the AF is established. A method for reduction of the high-correlation region of the AF of a pulse that has experienced dispersion distortions is proposed and justified.
