Abstract
The significant literary, archaeological, epigraphic and iconographic evidence allows a detailed analysis of the altars of the martyrial sanctuary of St. Felix at Cimitile between the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages together with the modalities of deposition of the relics within them. Although the disappearance of numerous altars and the imperfect preservation of the nine specimens remaining do not allow an exhaustive classification, it is nevertheless possible to recognize a chrono-typological sequence, based on stratigraphic data, in association with the frescoes and comparisons of altars still existing in other churches.
