Abstract

The paper describes the variety of behavioral models, personal characteristics, psychological qualities, age and gender specifics as well as other elements and components that play an important role in compiling the criminalistic portraits of subjects of elite crimes. The author argues for singling out a criminalistic category of “elite crimes” and analyses the existing viewpoints on this subject. Taking into consideration the existing interest of researchers in studying the features and characteristics of elite crimes and the insufficiency of the accumulated research base, the author makes a successful attempt at compiling a psychological-criminalistic portrait of such a subject. Different sub-structures of the concept are examined and it is concluded that the typical features and behavioral model of an elite criminal are radically different from those of common criminals, which should be taken into consideration by the employees of the corresponding law enforcement bodies.
