Naval Engineers JournalVolume 80, Issue 6 p. 859-869 The Activation of U. S. S. New Jersey (BB-62) At Philadelphia Naval Shipyard LT. C. S. MORSE, LT. C. S. MORSE Lieutenant Carl S. Morse, USN is an Engineering Duty Officer. He attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, graduating in the class of 1960 with a degree of Bachelor of Science, a Third Engineer's License, and a Commission as Ensign U.S. Naval Reserve. In 1965 he was augmented to the regular Navy. After graduation he served for two years as Damage Control Assistant and Cargo Officer on U.S.S. Chickaskia followed by two years as a ship Super-intendant at the Boston Naval Shipyard. In 1965 after two years of study, he graduated from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, California with the degree of Master of Science in Physics. Bream, USN is also an Engineering Duty Officer. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree and was commissioned Ensign, USN. Following graduation he was assigned to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard where he served on a type desk in connection with the reactivation of the New Jersey. He is presently Officer in charge of the Cryptographic Repair Facility, Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and is working for the degree of Master of Business Administration at the Wharton School University of Pennsylvania.Search for more papers by this author LT.
