Abstract

The purpose of the study was to identify the potential and effectiveness of Zantedeschia aethiopica, Pontederia lanceolata, and Echinodorus palaefolius plants as nitrogen and phosphate phytoremediators in domestic wastewater. The study was conducted using a randomized complete design with 3 treatments and 9 repetitions. Plants are planted using wetland construction. The parameters measured were total nitrogen content, total phosphate content, pH, biomass, tolerance index, bioconcentration factors and phytoremediation effectiveness. Measurement of total nitrogen and total phosphate using analytical methods using a 10S uv-vis genesis spectrophotometer. The results showed that the three plants have the potential as a phytoremediator of nitrogen and phosphate in domestic wastewater and can increase pH and reduce E. coli populations.
