Abstract

The 13C( 3He, α) 12C reaction has been investigated in the E( 3 He) = 5.1 − 8.4 MeV region. Differential cross sections for the three highest-energy α-particle groups were measured in 100 keV intervals. The results are dominated by a J π = 3 −, T = 0, resonance corresponding to a state in 160 at E x = 27.6 MeV. This state has been predicted from the eigenchannel reaction theory in the 1p–1h approximation.
