Abstract

The Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš, Serbia, had the honor and privilege of hosting for the tenth time the International Conference on Telecommunications in Modern Satellite, Cable, and Broadcasting Services - TELSIKS 2011, from October 5 to 8, 2011. The tradition of the TELSIKS conference dates from 1993. The first two conferences had a national character. An increasing number of participants from abroad allowed organizers to bring the conference quality to a higher level. In 1997, the TELSIKS conference formally acquired an international character. Like the previous conferences, TELSIKS 2007 and TELSIKS 2009, this year's event was organized jointly by the Faculty of Electronic Engineering Niš and by the national Society for Microwave Technique, Technologies, and Systems, Serbia. TELSIKS 2011 was organized under the technical co-sponsorship of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S), the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S), and IEEE Region 8. It was held in cooperation with the IEEE Section of Serbia and Montenegro, Serbia and Montenegro IEEE MTT-S Chapter, and IEEE Communications Chapter, as well as with the Telecommunications Society of Serbia, the Society for ETRAN, and the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia. The conference was also supported by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and the Government of the Republic of Serbia - Ministry of Education and Science.
