Abstract

Some aspects of cooperation and interaction in higher education, research and innovation in the Danube Region are discussed in light of the 10th anniversary of the EUSDR. The impact of national scientific output, rankings, patent applications and the research expenditure of Danube countries and their academic institutions on the overall performance of the region, as well as the effects of regional research cooperation, EU remuneration policy, European capital infrastructure and European university alliances, are analysed.
