Abstract
This article evaluates the current state of awareness of students majoring in Informatics Pedagogy at some Pedagogical Universities about STEM education to detect the characteristics, cognitive levels and influencing factors. The research team conducted a sociological survey using questionnaires for 200 students majoring in Informatics Pedagogy. The obtained results are of a quantitative nature and are evaluated using mathematical statistical methods. Six cognitive characteristics of Informatics Pedagogy students about STEM education have been pointed out. The results also show that students all determine that STEM education-oriented teaching is necessary in the new educational context and students need to access STEM knowledge in a scientific and systematic way through training courses to raise awareness about STEM education and improve skills in building STEM teaching activities.
