Abstract

Abstract Treatments were replicated four times on single-tree plots. An unsprayed buffer tree separated treatment trees within and between rows. Materials were applied dilute with a hand-gun at 400 lb/in2 (ca. 10 gal per tree) using a truck-mounted sprayer on 16 May. Twenty-five leaves from the spring flush were collected around the outer canopy of each sample tree. The number of living motile spider mites on each leaf was counted using a stereomicroscope in the laboratory. The count on each leaf was recorded as one observation. Water pH was 7.5.
