Abstract

Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) containing nitrogen-rich organic linkers and light-metal ions which exhibit remarkable thermal stability and shock resistivity, can be considered as potential high energetic materials. This work presents a three-dimensional framework MOF structure with manganese and sodium ions as the connecting nodes and N,N-bis(tetrazol-5-yl)amine (bta) di-anionic ligands as the organic linker, generated in-situ through solvothermal synthesis. This solid is considerably robust, and it shows attractive energetic performance as estimated by sensitivity tests and semi-empirical calculations of its detonation properties.
