Abstract

Thermal metrology laboratory at NIS-Egypt introduces the calibration services to all sectors in Egypt in the field of thermometry and hygrometry. In this paper new developed mathematical algorithm firmware controller is considered to control, stabilize and regulate the temperature and relative humidity of NIS climatic chamber using the environment of (LabVIEW®) software. Extensive assessment and characterization of the NIS climatic chamber has been achieved, the new developed controller showed better than 0.041 K in stability for temperature and less than 1% (0.8%) for relative humidity. The uncertainty linked to the measurements has been decreased and limited to ± 0.37 °C instead of ± 0.4 °C for temperature and ± 1.5 % instead of ± 1.7 % for relative humidity. This work gives free open source for all users who want to reduce the cost of expensive software specially to middle east and Africa.
