Abstract
Summary Profiles of a pair of identical twin women showing unusual similarity on WAIS and EPPS were compared with those of other identicals (N = 6 other pairs, ages 17 to 24 years), and all twins' profiles with those of unrelated matched pairs on these scales (N = 24 unrelated women of similar age, education, and IQ). Profile similarity hypotheses were as follows: (I) the unusual case would be no different from other identicals; (II) identicals would differ significantly from unrelated matched pairs. Four measures of profile similarity were used. Osgood-Suci's D; r; rho; and Dumas'r ps. Hypothesis I was partially rejected for the WAIS, completely for EPPS. Hypothesis II was supported strongly for WAIS, with reservations for EPPS. The study is congruent with others on monozygotics and demonstrates usefulness of profile similarity indices.
